Ringtones let you know when your getting a call or text or even just a notification for an app like emails or facebook.
Ringtone's are most of the time modified soundtrack used to alert the person when a person receives a call or text. 9/10 the ringtone is a shortened version of a actual song
Ringtones are used to alert a person on a mobile device about incoming calls texts and emails etc. They are also good practice for if you want to get into audio editing and manipulation.
